Responsibilities:
- Collect, clean, organise and validate machine operational data
- Integrate data from PLCs, sensors or databases into a dashboard platform
- Develop a web-based production monitoring dashboard
- Display production indicators such as machine status, uptime, downtime, output, cycle time, rejection rate, alarms and performance trends
- Develop and test machine learning models for anomaly detection
- Perform data preprocessing, feature selection and data analysis
- Assist with system testing and User Acceptance Testing
- Prepare technical documentation, user manuals and test reports
- Support project reports, demonstrations and training activities
Requirements:
- We are looking for a motivated Research Assistant to join an industry–university collaborative project involving the development of a production monitoring dashboard and machine learning system for an automated manufacturing environment.
- Work arrangement: Company-based with occasional visits to the university
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Computer Science
- Software Engineering
- Information Technology
- Data Science
- Artificial Intelligence
- Computer Engineering
- Electrical and Electronic Engineering
- Other relevant fields
- Knowledge of PLC communication, OPC-UA, MQTT, Modbus TCP, Node-RED or Industrial IoT will be an added advantage.
- No previous work experience is required. Candidates with relevant final-year projects, industrial training, portfolios or GitHub repositories are preferred.
- Python programming
- Pandas or equivalent data-processing tools
- Scikit-learn or other machine learning libraries
- Streamlit, Dash, Power BI or equivalent dashboard platforms
- MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite or other databases
- Data visualization
- API, JSON and CSV data handling
- Git or other version-control tools
